Yard Operative
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and market-leading business within the equipment rental and engineering sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and reliable Yard Operative to join a busy depot operation, supporting the movement, preparation, and organisation of specialist equipment.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in keeping things organised, and understands the importance of health & safety and high operational standards.
The Role
As Yard Operative, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the depot, ensuring equipment is prepared, checked, and ready for customer hire. Responsibilities will include:

Loading, unloading, and moving equipment safely around the yard

Cleaning, inspecting, and preparing equipment for hire

Carrying out basic pre-hire checks and reporting any damage or faults

Organising the yard and maintaining high housekeeping standards

Assisting with goods in/out and stock control

Supporting workshop and depot teams when required

Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety procedures
What We’re Looking For
To be successful, you should have:

Previous experience working in a yard, warehouse, workshop, plant hire, tool hire, or similar environment

A Counterbalance Forklift licence is essential

A strong work ethic and positive attitude

Good organisational skills and attention to detail

Ability to work effectively as part of a team
